Dear Friends:

Thank you so much for your donation to Charlotte Chinese Academy’s (CCA) Earthquake Relief Fund. Your generous show of support for victims of the disaster in Sichuan has made our Sunday fund raising event a huge success! We raised a total of $22,371.35.

We want to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who took the time to think of the victims and did something to help them.  Your kind heart and generosity has touched us deeply. The compassion with which you have supported our relief effort will be felt by those most affected by the earthquake. The earthquake may destroy homes, but it will never destroy the spirit of the people. Your love, care and support will make them strong, help them overcome grief and rebuild their homes and schools.

Today, CCA will deposit all the proceeds from our fund rising into a new bank account just for the earthquake relief. We will contact the China Red Cross and wire the funds over this week. The fund will be designated exclusively to earthquake relief effort. We will keep all the records for 3 years. We invite you to check our books at any time.

We also want to take this opportunity to thank Wachovia and Bank of America for their matching gift programs.  We will aggregate the matched funds and send it to China Red Cross in the near future. If you work for either of these companies and haven’t applied for a matching gift:  attached are step-by-step instructions.

This event was organized within a short time frame and we are lacking some donors’ email addresses. If you know someone who made a donation and is unable to get this letter, we would really appreciate it if you could please pass it along. In closing, we want to say thank you, thank you and thank you once again. Your support is our motivation to continue the effort to help the earthquake victims. They still need us and we will keep you informed periodically of our efforts.
